Pakistan Mission's Report Feb 2024: A Journey of Thirst and Faith
A personal testimony from the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, where desperate souls found living water through the powerful name of Jesus Christ.
The Desperation of Thirsty Souls
Psalm 42:1-2
"As the hart panteth after the water brook, so panteth my soul after thee, O God."
John 7:37-39
"If any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink."
During my February 2024 mission trip to Pakistan, I witnessed firsthand what true spiritual thirst looks like. These precious souls weren't casually interested in God—they were desperately seeking Him, willing to travel impossible distances and overcome overwhelming obstacles just to be baptized in Jesus' name.
A People Acutely Aware of Their Need
From the moment we arrived in Pakistan, we encountered something profound: a people who understood the depth of their spiritual thirst. They came from miles away to hear the Word of God preached. Women sat intently on the ground as Bishop Johnson taught the oneness doctrine. Men sat on carpets laid across dirt as I shared the message of repentance, baptism in Jesus' name, and the gift of the Holy Ghost.
These weren't people going through religious motions—they were souls desperately seeking the quenching power of God's Spirit. As Proverbs 25:25 declares, "As cold water to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country." To them, the gospel we carried wasn't just information; it was exactly what their parched souls needed.

The Brick Kiln Baptisms
01
Discovery
We visited a brick kiln and sat in the mud home of a family trapped in bonded labor—modern-day slavery.
02
Salvation Shared
As I shared the plan of salvation, two people immediately expressed their desire to be baptized in Jesus' name.
03
Urgent Obedience
We marched to a back field where dirty water flowed from a well into their primitive plumbing system.
04
More Souls Arrive
As we prepared to leave, a rickshaw pulled up packed with seven more people ready to be baptized.
They didn't allow unclean water to stop them from having their sins washed away. Their desperation was real, their faith was active, and God honored their hunger for righteousness.
When the Shadow of God's Power Falls
On Saturday, Bishop Johnson and I were escorted into a prayer and healing service. As we walked down the center aisle, I noticed a young lady laid near the altar, sick and being tended to by her mother. As we passed, I began praying for God to touch her and work a miracle.
Within minutes, she sat up. Soon after, they brought her food. By the end of Bishop Johnson's message, during the altar call, her mother brought her to me—standing—requesting prayer for deliverance from evil spirits. But the work was already done. This child walked out of that service on her own accord, completely healed.
This family had traveled six hours from near the India-Pakistan border for their daughter's deliverance. Distance couldn't stop them. When faith meets thirst, you get a blessing from God.
21 Converted Hindus: A 16-Hour Journey to Jesus
Monday Morning
We received word that 21 converted Hindus had been taught by an AWCF missionary but couldn't be baptized due to threats from religious extremists.
The Decision
When they heard we were in the country and willing to help, we sent $190 to provide transportation from the deserts of Bahawalpur to Faisalabad.
The Journey
These 21 men packed into a 12-seat van and traveled 16 hours through the night—just to be baptized in the name of Jesus.
The Baptism
Bishop Johnson and I sat with them, prayed with them, taught them Scripture. One by one, they confessed Jesus as Savior and were baptized.
One convert, when he got into the water, realized he was still wearing a Hindu relic on his arm. He immediately threw it off before he went under the water.
This is the kind of desperate faith that compels action. These men didn't make excuses about convenience or comfort. They traveled through the night across dangerous terrain because their souls were thirsty for the living God. That is a beautiful expression of faith that put many of us to shame.
The Contrast of Desperation
In Pakistan
  • 21 men traveled 16 hours in a packed van
  • Families walked 6 hours for healing
  • People baptized in dirty well water
  • Converts threw off religious relics
  • No complaints, only gratitude
Too Often at Home
  • Some won't walk 16 feet to the altar
  • Excuses about getting hair wet
  • "I'll do it next week"
  • "On some special day"
  • Complaining despite having everything
Until you are desperate and aware of just how much you need Him, God will not give you anything. These Pakistani believers understood what many of us have forgotten: we are absolutely dependent on God for everything.

Eight More Souls in Asiftown Lahore
On the last two days of my trip—after Bishop Johnson had already returned to the United States—I was notified that eight more souls were ready to be baptized in the name of Jesus. We traveled to Asiftown Lahore with Pastor Wilson.
After a short message on fulfilling the Gospel, these souls were ready to have their thirst quenched. One by one as they were baptized, some were filled with the Holy Ghost, speaking in tongues right there in the water. The power of God was undeniable.
Afterward, the pastor asked me to teach Bible study. We sat for one hour late into the night, teaching them the Beatitudes. They didn't want it to end because their thirst was being quenched. Jesus said in Matthew 5:6, "Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled." God was filling them.
The Bible College Students
Eight Weeks of Training
45 students received teaching on the doctrine of Christ, sitting through internet issues, power outages, and connection problems every single week.
Caps and Gowns
They held a graduation ceremony where students wore caps and gowns, invited their families, and received certificates of participation with tremendous pride.
Ready for More
17 of them didn't just want a certificate—they wanted all of God. They were ready to be baptized in Jesus' name.
These precious souls, acutely aware of their thirst, sat attentively and ready to receive week after week. While some of us struggle to come to a comfortable church and sit in Bible study for an hour, they pressed through every obstacle to hear the Word of God taught.

32 Baptisms: Water Poured on the Thirsty
The last day of my trip was a dizzying blur of God's power. We marched to a church where the baptismal was full, and one by one, we baptized 32 people in Jesus' name. I asked God for confirmation of this work.
The very first baptism was one of the Bible college students. As she came out of the water, the power of God fell, and she was filled with the Holy Ghost right there. It seemed like one person after another experienced the same thing. In total, eight people were filled with the Holy Ghost coming out of the water.
"For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground." —Isaiah 44:3
It was an extraordinary sight to see the Thirst Quencher doing exactly what He promised—satisfying the longing of thirsty souls by pouring out the Holy Ghost like water.
The Final Count: 63 Souls Baptized
63
Total Baptisms
Personally baptized in the mighty name of Jesus Christ
8
Filled with the Holy Ghost
Coming directly out of the baptismal water
16
Hours Traveled
By converted Hindus desperate to be baptized
We baptized people in everything from little kiddie pools to tubewells connected to wells, including walking through fields to find water to baptize thirsty souls in Jesus' name. We were in the middle of Pakistan, yet the power of God was in our midst as the Thirst Quencher showed up time and time again.
The Word of God Come to Life
As I said after my previous trip, I can affirm even more convincingly: the Word of God has come to life in me in ways I cannot explain. I believe in the power of God to do the impossible.

I am so grateful that I know who He is.
When thirst meets faith, God moves to satisfy. I witnessed it over and over again—in brick kilns and urban churches, in desert villages and city neighborhoods, among converted Hindus and lifelong seekers.
The supernatural power of God is not limited by geography, economics, or circumstances. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
When Thirst Meets Faith, God Moves to Satisfy
The testimony of Pakistan is not just about 63 baptisms or miraculous healings. It's about what happens when people become acutely aware of their desperate need for God—and respond with radical faith. It's about souls so thirsty for righteousness that no obstacle can keep them from the living water.
May we cultivate that same awareness, that same desperation, that same willingness to go to any length to experience the fullness of God's presence and power in our lives. The Thirst Quencher is still pouring out His Spirit on those who hunger and thirst after righteousness.
"Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled." —Matthew 5:6
